Durres Hammameducational video for visitors
- The task
- Durrës Hammam is an 18th-century public bathhouse in Albania, built under Ottoman rule. The video greets visitors and explains the place: why hammams stood next to mosques, how they served hygiene and social life, and what each room was for. The storyboard with all on-screen text came to us ready.
- What we made
- A 2D illustrated video with animated text. A map shows where the ten Ottoman-era public hammams of Albania are. Small characters show the difference between a single and a double hammam: in a single one, men and women are never inside at the same time. Then the video walks through the rooms, from the changing room to the domed steam room and the stern where water was heated. After the client's notes, the text appears first and the drawing goes from sketch to colour, so viewers have time to read and then look.
- The result
- The final English version was delivered after the client's notes were applied.
